Stockbridge, home of the Houghton Fishing Club features a wide street full of pubs, shops and good restaurants such as The Black Bean.

Mottisfont Abbey set on the River Test was once a medieval priory. In summertime don't miss seeing the National Rose Collection in the walled garden.

In Nether Wallop St Andrew's church is famous for its ancient wall paintings. The old mill is the home of The fly-fishing school . Leopold Stokowski, the conductor once lived next door. Nearby is the important iron age hill fort of Danebury Ring which is easily spotted from the top of Broughton Down. Danebury Vineyard is near to the site of the fabled old Stockbridge Racecourse.

A popular cycle ride is down the valley to Horsebridge, once a halt on the 'Sprat and Winkle' railway, past the entrance to Bossington House and on to the village of Houghton. Houghton Lodge, a curious building popular as a film location, is open to the public on most days during the summer months.

The Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop houses a unique collection of historic helicopters and gliders.

Nearby golf courses are at Leckford and Dunwood Manor.
